Play-by-Play News
The Play-by-Play new play reading season began this month with Wendy Weiner’s new play Perpetual Girl. Our remaining readings in the season include The Envelope by Alex Lewin, Feb. 2 & 3, 2018, and ASS by Ellen Simon, April 20 & 21, 2018.
This season, PTC is producing on the mainstage its second play from an early Play-by-Play season. “i” by Jeff Talbot runs Feb. 16 – March 3, 2018.
But that’s not the only Play-by-Play receiving a world premiere. Plan-B Theatre Company presents the world premiere of The Ice Front by Eric Samuelsen, November 9-19, 2017, in the Studio Theatre at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.
The actors of the Norwegian National Theatre find themselves in an uneasy truce with Nazi cultural authorities during the German occupation of Norway. When they are forced to perform a Nazi propaganda piece, conscience comes face-to-face with The Final Solution.
The Ice Front honors the heroism of and dangers faced by the trilogy of Nazi victims – Jews, Roma and Homosexuals – by questioning what it means to be an artist, to be a patriot, to be human.
The Ice Front was developed as part of PTC’s Play-By-Play series last season. Click here for tickets (only $20!) and details (the run is already 60% sold out).
