DIANE L. PARISI TAKES HELM OF PTC’S ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

SALT LAKE CITY — PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY, the professional regional theatre company located on the University of Utah campus, has named DIANE L. PARISI acting managing director in the wake of the current managing director CHRISTOPHER MASSIMINE’s approved personal leave from the University of Utah. Parisi joined the staff after completing her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Utah and has spent her 27-year career at PTC.

“In her role as Director of Development, Diane is deeply familiar with every aspect of administration in our organization,” said Artistic Director KAREN AZENBERG. “Donors, patrons, and colleagues at the University have worked with her for decades, and she is noted across the arts community for her skill, professionalism, and integrity.”

“Diane is a highly-experienced, calm, reassuring voice who can step in seamlessly during a rare tumultuous time in PTC leadership,” said [board member/president/spokesperson]

Over its 60-year tenure, PTC has been noted for the unusual stability of its leadership within a professional arts organization: Azenberg replaced retiring Artistic Director Charles Morey in 2012, as only the third artistic director in the theatre’s history. Massimine replaced Managing Director Chris Lino, who retired in 2019 after serving 28 years.

After a shutdown forced by the pandemic, PTC is scheduled to re-open with the 2021-2022 season on September 10, 2021 with the concert musical production of Ain’t Misbehavin’.
