Pioneer Theatre Company Announces Local Auditions for
A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

Auditions for Pioneer Theatre Company’s production of the classic Shakespearean comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Callbacks are scheduled for Saturday, December 8, 2007, in the morning. Exact times will be announced to auditioners.

AEA (Equity)-only auditions will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, but AEA members may sign up for any time slot. Non-Equity auditioners may audition from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on that same date. Auditions will be held in Room 245 at the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. All auditioners must sign up for an audition time slot on the board inside Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. The sign-up sheet will be posted by noon on Friday, November 30, 2007.

All auditioners will be asked to read from the script. Scripts will be available for check out from the PTC Business Office one week prior to the audition (Friday, November 30, 2007). Audition sides will be available at the same time. Scripts may be checked out on an overnight basis from the theatre offices located in room 325 at Simmons PMT. Rehearsal dates for the production are Monday, January 21, 2007, through Thursday, February 14, 2007.  Production dates are Friday, February 15, 2007, through Saturday, March 1, 2007. Paul Barnes will direct; set design by Peter Harrison and costumes by Susan Branch.

All roles in A Midsummer Night’s Dream are open except for those of Theseus/Oberon, Hermia, Puck, and Nick Bottom. There are various roles for men and women, all over age 18.
