The Loge Gallery, Pioneer Theatre Company, Presents
Juxtapositions-Monotypes
An exhibit of works by printmaker Brent Haddock
Salt Lake City – Pioneer Theatre Company’s Loge Gallery presents “Juxtapositions,” an exhibit of monotypes by printmaker Brent Haddock, February 17, 2012 – March 3, 2012.
“Much of my new work is about repurposing older intaglio prints by placing them in new compositions,” Haddock said. “I like this idea because it is a side-by-side blending of thoughts and experiences resulting in a ‘vintage’ mixed-media monotype that hopefully makes the viewer think.” Intaglio is a family of printmaking techniques in which the image is incised into a surface, known as the matrix or plate, and the incised line or area holds the ink.
The exhibit can be experienced on the mezzanine level of the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre through the run of the PTC’s production of Jane Austen’s Emma. The gallery is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for the general public and before and after performances for ticket holders.
