Artistic Staff Bios
MATTHEW LIBBY (Playwright) is a writer based in Brooklyn. His play DATA won the Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Award and was adapted as a digital production by Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre in May 2021. A Princess Grace finalist, two-time O’Neill NPC semifinalist, and Blue Ink Award featured finalist, Matt’s work has been produced and developed by theaters across the country. JULIE KRAMER (Director) is very happy to be back at Pioneer, where she directed Miss Bennett: Christmas At Pemberley, Outside Mullingar, and four Play-by-Plays. She directed her adaptation of Rona Jaffe’s bestseller The Best Of Everything in New York (New York Times and Time Out “Critics Pick”). Other directing includes A Chorus Line (“Best Musical” TUTS, Houston); Santa Doesn’t Come To The Holiday Inn by Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder (Ensemble Studio Theatre), And…Action by Eleanor Burgess (Keen Company), Hillary by Wendy Weiner (New Georges), and None Of The Above by Jenny Lyn Bader (The Lion). She’s developed new work at theaters including The Public, New Dramatists, Dorset Theater Festival, and NYMF. She’s on faculty of The Tepper Semester/Syracuse University.
MARY P. COSTELLO* (Production Stage Manager) has worked on over 60 productions during 11 seasons with PTC. Favorites include Sting’s The Last Ship, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Les Misérables, In the Heights, Next to Normal, and Rent. Other stage management teams: Indiana Repertory Theatre, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Boston Theatre Works, Grand Valley Shakespeare Festival, and the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
