| MATT AUGUST (Director) directed all the Broadway, Los Angeles and Nationally Touring productions of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas-the Musical. He recently directed and executive produced the award-winning short film How to Get to Candybar, which is currently playing the film festival circuit (www.candybarthemovie.com). He was nominated for the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Direction for the new musical Liberty Smith at Ford’s Theatre, DC. The Los Angeles Times hailed his Two Gentlemen of Verona for the Old Globe as one of the “Top 10 Productions of the Year” and his Baby Taj at TheatreWorks made “Top Ten” lists for theSan Francisco Chronicle, Oakland Tribune and San Jose Mercury News. Mr. August directed the Australian production of The Full Monty, five seasons of A Christmas Carol for Ford’s Theatre, the world premier of Sixteen Wounded staring Martin Landau and co-wrote the book for the Helen Hayes-nominated new musical Meet John Doe (NYMF & Ford’s Theatre) and the playFool and Proper Wages (Sirius Theatre, LA). Mr. August has directed many other shows at regional theatres across the country, worked with many stars from Jim Dale to Wayne Brady and been the Associate/Resident Director on four other Broadway shows. He started as a street theatre performer. He’s is a Drama League Fellow, Killian Fellow (Oregon Shakes) and a Watermill Fellow (with Robert Wilson) and received his MFA from CalArts. |
| BOB RICHARD (Choreographer) has been the resident choreographer for the past eleven years with the Sacramento Music Circus, staging over twenty-seven productions such as the first ever Les Misérables in the round, Frank Wildhorn’s 10th Anniversary production of Jekyll and Hyde, Hairspray and the world premiere of the new Footloose. He recently staged the 50th anniversary production of West Side Story for Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre and has worked regionally with North Shore Music Theatre, The Old Globe, and Ordway Performing Arts Center. Bob was nominated for a Bay Area Critics Circle Award for his work with the American Musical Theatre of San Jose, and won an Ivey award for his choreography in his tour of Cabaret. Founding Artistic Director of The American Musical Theatre Dance Company! Bob has been dancing, teaching, and choreographing all over the world encompassing 30 years in show business. | HELEN GREGORY (Music Director) Helen is returning to the Pioneer Theatre Company (previously the MD for Rent) and is honored to be a part of In the Heights. Her credits include New York Theatre Workshop, The Vineyard, La Mama E.T.C., Hudson Guild, Maltz-Jupiter Theatre (7 Carbonell nominations; winner- 2012 for Best Musical Direction- Crazy For You), Asolo Theatre (winner Sarasota Magazine Best Musical Direction – Barnum), The Alliance Theatre, Paper Mill Playhouse, Riverside Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, and the Hangar Theatre. | MATTHEW TIBBS (Sound Designer) is Pioneer Theatre Company’s Resident Sound Designer. He has previously worked as a sound designer or engineer at Portland Center Stage, Artists Repertory Theatre, Great River Shakespeare Festival and Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. Some of his favorite past sound designs include Fat Pig, Proof and The Full Monty. He received his M.F.A. in Sound Design from University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and his B.A. from George Fox University. Matthew has also been the sound designer on several award-winning films and video projects. Matthew is adjunct faculty at University of Utah teaching Sound Design and lives with his wife Beth and son Lucas in Salt Lake City. |
| AMANDA FRENCH (Hair and Makeup Designer) has been a Makeup and Hair Designer for over 20 years. She has worked for Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, The Utah Shakespeare Festival, The Utah Opera, Egyptian Theatre Company and the University of Texas at Austin. She is a contributing writer in the tenth edition of Stage Makeup by Corson, Glavan and Norcross, and her work can also be seen in The Costume Technician’s Handbook by Ingham and Covey, and Wig Making and Styling: A Complete Guide for Theatre and Film by Ruskai and Lowery. She attended the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where she studied with Hair and Makeup Designer Lenna Kaleva. She is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and a current University of Utah adjunct professor of wigs and makeup. |

SYNOPSIS: Jerry Herman’s energetic Hello, Dolly! is a musical filled with charisma and heart. Matchmaker Dolly Levi is a widow, a matchmaker, and also a professional meddler –but everything changes when she decides that the next match she needs to make is to find someone for herself. Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Hello Dolly! is boisterous and charming from start to finish. Dolly Levi is one of the strongest and richest starring roles for a woman ever written for musical theatre.
