One Man, Two Guvnors is a knockabout comedy set in swingin’ 1963 London, as one man tries to serve, and hoodwink, two employers at the same time. Throw in a sweet and beautiful but dimwitted young woman, a vain actor—is there any other kind?—a woman disguised as her murdered twin brother, a crooked lawyer, and a couple of low-level hoodlums, and it’s almost more than one man can govern.

Creative Team

JAMES LAUSCHER (Skiffle Band) Jimmy “Rockstar” Lauscher has been playing a wide variety of music on his guitar for the last 20 years. He played in a variety of local and regional acts and then decided to become more serious about pursuing music as a career. Jimmy received a bachelor’s degree in music from the U of U in 2006 and since then has been very active. He plays in the regional touring act Marinade, Salt Lake City’s The Dead Lake Trio with fellow cast members Eric Stoye and Max Muscolino, teaches private guitar lessons, and runs open jam sessions for other local musicians. From heavy metal to jazz and all points in between, Jimmy has been a part of it.

MAX MUSCOLINO (Skiffle Band) was born in Salt Lake to an amazing artistic family. He started playing saxophone in fourth grade. When he reached the age of 13, he got his first bass—a candy-apple red Squire. It was love at first slap. The bass has allowed him to travel this great country for education and employment. He studied at Berklee School of Music, and then returned home to work with the family band. He can be heard today at weddings, corporate parties, and dive bars all over town.

PATRICK NEVILLE (Skiffle Band) has been playing guitar for nearly 25 years (since he was 8 years old). An autodidact who plays by ear, he learned singing and vocal harmonies by years of listening to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young and many of the similar bands from the 60’s and 70’s – which was what his parents listened to. He has played rock and blues in Salt Lake City bands for the past 12 years, including with the now defunct BadGrass. His current band, Son of Ian, plays the local performance scene in pubs around Salt Lake City.

ERIC STOYE (Skiffle Band) was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, to two gifted musician parents. His obsession with rhythm started as a toddler after sitting behind his father’s drums for the first time at age two. He moved to California as a pre-teen and began studying the drums formally there. At age 17, he started teaching his own students, and the following year moved to Los Angeles to further his studies at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. He graduated two years later with a performance degree for drums and percussion. After completing school, he returned to Salt Lake City where he is currently living, teaching, and playing music full time. He has recorded and played with numerous artists of various genres, toured nationally, and has been hired for many local and touring acts.

DAVID IVERS (Director) is one of two Artistic Directors at the Utah Shakespeare Festival where he has acted and directed in over 40 productions spanning 18 seasons. In addition to his work with the Utah Shakespeare Festival, he has directed productions in each of the last two seasons with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (The CocoanutsThe Taming of the Shrew) and continues to work regionally among our country’s top theatres. He spent 10 years as a resident artist (actor, director) with The Denver Center Theatre Company and several seasons with Portland Center Stage, Portland Repertory Theatre (Associate Artistic Director), Artists Repertory Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Tacoma Actors Guild and others. He received his MFA from The University of Minnesota and a BFA from Southern Oregon University. He is a proud member of SDC and AEA, and is grateful to Pioneer Theatre Company.

GREGG COFFIN (Musical Director) has composed, directed, arranged, and orchestrated the music for over a hundred productions throughout the U.S., Canada, China, and South Korea. Off-Broadway he composed the music and lyrics for Five Course Love (Minetta Lane) and Convenience (Duke on 42nd Street). His regional work includes The Cocoanuts (Oregon Shakespeare Festival); Animal Crackers, Hamlet, Heartbreak House, The Taming of the Shrew, A Christmas Carol, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello, The Merry Wives of Windsor, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Pride & Prejudice, King Lear, and Measure for Measure (Denver Center for the Performing Arts); Dial M for Murder, Proof, Rough Crossing, The Illusion, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and The Comedy of Errors (Geva Theatre Centre); Cyrano de Bergerac (Utah Shakespeare Festival); Theophilus North(Arena Stage); To Kill a Mockingbird (Alley Theatre); The Game’s Afoot, The Whipping Man, Our Town, Death of a Salesman, andThe Drawer Boy (Indiana Repertory Theatre); and many productions at the Santa Cruz, Alabama, California, Santa Fe, Georgia, Great River, and St. Louis Shakespeare Festivals. Gregg’s international credits include The Scarlet Pimpernel and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (The Stratford Festival of Canada); Slavs! (Tarragon Theatre); and Vinci (National Arts Centre).

PAUL TATE DEPOO III (Set Designer) Most recently, Paul created the sets for Pageant the Musical (off-Broadway), A Christmas Carol (Capital Rep), Annie (Maltz-Jupiter, Carbonell Award Nominee for Best Scenic Design), Look Upon Our Lowliness (NYC Movement Co.), Hello, Dolly! (Cape Playhouse), Avenue Q (Adirondack Theatre Festival), Broadway’s 2013 Beauty Pageant, and was a select designer for the 2013 Lincoln Center Directors Lab. He previously designed A Raisin in the Sun (Palm Beach Dramaworks), The Music Man (Maltz-Jupiter, Carbonell Award: Best  Musical Production), Hello, Dolly! (Maltz Jupiter Theatre),The Kite Runner (Boston Repertory Theatre), and the national tour for indie band Neutral Milk Hotel’s The Music Tapes. Upcoming productions include the new web series Oh, LizaMaster Harold and the Boys (Luna Stage) Sweeney Todd at Lincoln Center,Lady Day on Broadway, and Chicago Lyric Opera’s The Marriage of Figaro with scenic designer James Noone. JOSHUA C. HIGHT (Sound Designer) A Graduate With Distinction of London’s Alchemea College of Audio Engineering, Joshua comes to us with many years of experience in professional audio systems repair and design, and has established himself as an exceptional live sound engineer in both London and Salt Lake City. Joshua is looking forward to a successful second season working in theater design with Pioneer Theatre Company. His other projects of note include working with Sommerset House for the 2012 Olympic Games, and PTC’s Elf—The MusicalA Few Good MenMuch Ado About NothingDeathtrap and Sweet Charity.

AMANDA FRENCH (Hair and Makeup Designer) has been a Makeup and Hair Designer for over 25 years. She has worked for Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the Utah Opera, Egyptian Theatre Company and the University of Texas as Austin. She is a contributing writer in the tenth edition of Stage Makeup by Corson, Glavan and Norcross, and her work can be seen in The Costume Technician’s Handbook by Ingham and Covey, and Wig Making and Styling: A Complete Guide for Theatre and Film by Ruskai and Lowery. She attended the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where she studied with Hair and Makeup Designer Lenna Kaleva. She is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and a current University of Utah adjunct professor of wigs and makeup.

MARY P. COSTELLO (Stage Manager) is joining Pioneer Theatre Company for her fourth season! JOHN “JP” POLLARD (Production Stage Manager) is excited to join Pioneer Theatre Company directly from a three-season residency at Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA. He got his start in the theatre over 30 years ago, working with the likes of Kaye Ballard, Imogene Coca, Cesar Romero, Lee Meriweather and many others at Earl Holliman’s Fiesta Dinner Playhouse in his hometown of San Antonio, TX. Career highlights: the San Francisco run of The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universestarring Lily Tomlin, four seasons at New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse, and an international production of Grease – Das Musical, touring both Germany and Switzerland. In addition to theatre, he has previously spent time as personal assistant to actress Sarah Jessica Parker. Proud AEA member since 1983.

ANALYSHA MULCOCK (First Asst. Stage Manager) is so excited to return to this position with Pioneer Theatre Company after working last season as the second assistant on Sweet CharityA Few Good Men and Something’s Afoot. A graduate of the stage management program at the University of Utah, some of her other credits include A Flea in Her Ear (Babcock Theatre),Geography Club (Studio 115), Rare Bird (Babcock Theatre), and Sylvia and Songs for a New World (Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts). She would like to thank her family for all of their love and support.

KAYLA K. SPRAGUE (Second Asst. Stage Manager) is thrilled to be back at Pioneer Theatre Company for her second show here. She is currently a senior in the Stage Management Program here at the University of Utah. Her previous work includes stage-managing a stage at the Utah PRIDE Festival in Salt Lake City and a regional first production of Love Alone by Deborah Salem Smith.

SARAH SHIPPOBOTHAM (Dialect Coach) is a Full Professor and Head of the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah. MARTINE KEI GREEN-ROGERS (Dramaturg) is currently an Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Utah. RICHARD BEAN (Playwright) was born in Hull, England in 1956. After school, he worked in a bread plant before leaving to study Psychology at Loughborough University. Richard has since worked as a psychologist, playwright and a stand-up comedian. He lives with his partner Erica and two daughters, Tilly and Ruby. RICH COLE (Casting) has happily served as Pioneer Theatre Company’s casting director since 2001. He has helped to populate more than 500 shows for Broadway, off-Broadway, National Tours, London, Dublin, Vienna and over thirty-five of this nation’s major regional theatres. For this work, the Casting Society of America thrice nominated him for the prestigious Artios Award. Also a director and playwright, he is the founding Artistic Director of New York’s The Urban Rock Project, whose critically acclaimed production of Patriot Acts was one of the highlights of a recent New York International Fringe Festival. His play Unnatural Actswon the 2002 OOBR Award for Excellence. Rich made his Salt Lake City directing debut with The Caucasian Chalk Circle for the U of U’s Department of Theatre.

Hello Dolly!

SYNOPSIS: Jerry Herman’s energetic Hello, Dolly! is a musical filled with charisma and heart. Matchmaker Dolly Levi is a widow, a matchmaker, and also a professional meddler –but everything changes when she decides that the next match she needs to make is to find someone for herself. Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Hello Dolly! is boisterous and charming from start to finish. Dolly Levi is one of the strongest and richest starring roles for a woman ever written for musical theatre.

LANGUAGE:  A few mild uses of  “damn.”

SMOKING AND DRINKING:  The characters sing of smoking although none is depicted, and wine and champagne are consumed during dinners.

SEX:  None.

VIOLENCE: None.
