Everything you need to know about our upcoming move from Theatre Manager to Spektrix. (TLDR: This is a GREAT thing!)
Pioneer Theatre Company is pleased to announce that we’re upgrading to a newer and more user-friendly ticketing service called Spektrix! Better yet: this switch is happening next week.
Below are some FAQs to address any concerns or questions you may have when it comes to your online account. And please know that our Patron Services Team is always here to help! Email us at [email protected] or call 801-581-6961.
What is Spektrix?
Spektrix is a leading box office and theatre ticketing software. It is used worldwide, and is replacing our current system Theatre Manager, which is ceasing service. We are excited that Spektrix will provide an updated and improved user experience for PTC Patrons.
When does Spektrix go live on PTC’s website?
The new ticketing software will officially become publicly accessible Friday, January 31st at 10:00 AM. To prepare for the transition, all PTC ticket sales (online, phone, and in-person) will be suspended between Tuesday, January 28th at 9:00 AM through Spektrix launch on Friday, January 31st at 10:00 AM. (Please note that this is a slight update from the originally provided on-sale date of 1/30.)
What about my account and password?
All accounts created with Theatre Manager (that means all current online accounts) will automatically be transferred to Spektrix. Once you login for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set a new password. You may also utilize Spektrix’s password-free login options. The username associated with your account on Spektrix is the same email you used on Theatre Manager.
Will my personal information be secure in this transition?
Spektrix acts as a data processor only—meaning Spektrix will never alter, manipulate, or otherwise interact with your data. Spektrix is certified, using the most recent standards for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system.
Will the new ticketing site be easier to navigate?
Spektrix will offer a more streamlined and user-friendly experience than Theatre Manager. Many patrons have requested an easier ticket-buying experience and we’re thrilled to provide one!
What will happen to my PTC gift certificates?
All gift certificates are still valid! They will be moved to our new software. Should you run into any issues in redeeming a gift certificate, please call our Box Office at 801-581-6961.
Do I still book tickets at Tickets.PioneerTheatre.org?
No—Tickets.PioneerTheatre.org will no longer be an active domain. To purchase your tickets, go to our main website (PioneerTheatre.org) and click the “Get Tickets” button in the header, or through our individual production listings.
What changes can I expect to see?
The Spektrix system is typically more intuitive and robust than what patrons were accustomed to with Theatre Manager. Your Spektrix account will offer clearer options—such as the ability to download and print tickets at home, communicate accessibility needs directly to the PTC Box Office, indicate your contact preferences, and more.
What if I have trouble with the new system?
